We’re calling for change.

For some Oregon hospitals, promoting the health of our communities isn’t always a priority.

Prices of care are going up statewide— inpatient hospital care in Portland grew 24% from 2012 to 2016

Oregon hospitals have doubled the average profit margin over the last 10 years

Hospitals are doing less to promote health in communities of need—charity care is down 50% compared to 2010

Oregon hospitals are not taking care of their own.

3,200 hospital staff rely on the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) for health care

1,800 hospital employees need food stamps to feed their families

Executives at some health systems are compensated more and more—up to $10 million a year

Hospitals are only as strong as the people who work day in and day out to support patients.

It’s time to make our patients, our families and our communities the priority.
